Good evening my fellow fashion lovers and dreamers. Tonight is eerily beautiful. As I was driving home today, sitting in LA traffic, I saw an arresting rainbow peeking from behind thick chunky grey clouds that seemed to have swallowed the clear bright blue skies that only moments ago had filled the air. A cool breeze swept through my car window as the sky began to change its hue. Then, long bolts of lightening darted through the sky- an unwanted light show. But I will admit, despite my fear (I am afraid of everything), I was able to for a moment recognize its beauty.
Now, I am sitting on my couch by my window- sheltered from the big dollops of water toppling from the sky and the unexpected light shows. A warm breeze is coming through my window rippling the shades. The stove is humming as my sole stuffed with crab and shrimp from Whole Foods bakes. For the first time in a long time it is calm. No workload looming over my head, no TV, no responsibilities- at least not for this moment, not right now. And I love it.
I have been writing poems quite often in my moments of spare time- I quickly jot down a few lines on whatever paper is in front of me. Sometimes I piece them altogether to make these concoctions of slightly off beat rhythm and rhyme, but lately I like that. It’s something different- not predicted.
Here is a short poem I jotted down in the margins of my notebook:
I will hop-scotch
around the world
if you play hide and seek from me.
i’ll find you.
Race through, red lights and green lights
Jump through hula hoops
and leapfrog over lily pads
I’ll capture your flag
Red Rover Red Rover
I’ll send you right over
every time.
because Simone says,
you were meant for me
And Love, beats rock paper scissors.
all the time.
Well my fish is ready dreamers. I’m off to go cut some cucumbers and enjoy this meal- maybe a nice glass of white wine to go with it?
Oh yea, TOMORROW is my BIRTHDAY! Another beautiful year I was blessed with, hoping that 22 will be just as wonderful.
Until tomorrow dreamers…
