Hello my fellow fashion lovers and dreamers. I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day.
I’ve been punching the keys of this computer all morning, but I decided to take a break, and write something for myself. I hope you all enjoy.

Have you ever looked at someone and thought “this relationship will go absolutely nowhere, but what the hell” ?
I knew he wasn’t going to make my heart ever skip a beat,
I knew I’d never find myself lying next to him in bed and thinking “this is where I am meant to be.”
But, I said what the hell.
He was intriguing to me.
Don’t get me wrong,
I am supporter of true love
It’s biggest fan
and promoter.
True love, should assign me as its ambassador-
a “diplomat of love,”
the real kind.
the gushy, butterflies, trust, forever stuff
that’s me.
a proponent of I love you’s that come from the heart
and kisses that have a purpose.
I, am the captain of love’s cheerleading team.
I’m the one doing flips on the sidelines
screaming the loudest
hoping that love always hits the winning shot
drives the winning touchdown
and races across the finish line first.
I’m in the ring for love.
“Let’s get readddy to rummbbble”
left jab
straight right
left hook
I’m knocking down all of love’s impostors.
I won’t throw in the towel for love.
I’m a rider for love-
got it tatted on my wrist,
it’s forever.
So don’t get me wrong.
I am a supporter of true love-
the real kind.
but let’s be real
love doesn’t come around often
So in the meantime,
while your waiting
embrace the other stuff.
they come with lessons, experiences and
fun
as love’s biggest fan and supporter
take it from me,
it’s not always about love
sometimes it’s about learning
from someone
about something
new.
it’s about good conversation
and seeing new things
having a good laugh.
a good relationship,
doesn’t always have to be about true love
and forever.
but don’t get me wrong
I am a supporter of true love
it’s biggest fan.

Until tomorrow dreamers…

Hello my fellow fashion lovers and dreamers. Another night (or morning for that matter) that I am up again, wide awake wishing that I could fall asleep.
I have been up working on some things, and ran across a photo of two girls that I met in New York this summer. I can’t remember their names, they are somewhere floating around in one of my many Blackberry notes, but I do remember why it is that they caught my attention- their boundless sense of confidence. Once again, they arrested my attention tonight, and inspired a short poem.

These two ladies defy the mainstream pulls society’s determination of “cool.” They take fashion, and create their own trends, despite what’s walking down the latest runways. And they do this all, with a powerful sense of confidence.
You can’t help but to be drawn to them.

New York, New York
what do you know about what it means to be an individual?
i find purpose in the unconventional,
find comfort in the off-beat.
i can find my rhythm
in an out of tune
jazz number
ooooh ba ba
i find ease.
on that, unbeaten path
i’ll do a little
dance- number
cus’ different
is no trouble for me
it gives me satisfaction.
i’m eccentric-
and quirky
Oh you think I’m
freakishly dorky?
maybe
but
these irregularities
soothe me-
move me
to be an individual
you just don’t know how good it feels
to be free
what do you know about what it means to be an individual?
until you know, don’t judge me

TGIF dreamers! Yesterday I enjoyed a beautiful day with friends and family and brought in my 22nd birthday with a lot of love.
Last night I went to dinner with my boyfriend and my parents to Cafe Stella in Silverlake. I had heard raving reviews of the French eatery but had some trepidation over whether or not I would enjoy the cuisine. The old adage is true never judge a book by its cover, or in this case never judge a restaurant by its cuisine, you never know what tasty treasures are buried within the menu.
Needless to say, Cafe Stella was amazing and I can not wait to go back again. I had the Sole served in a buttery sauce with potatoes that paired beautifully with the crisp white wine, it was delicious. Run don’t walk to Cafe Stella.

On the car ride to dinner I got a wonderful birthday gift from some Bespoked Stanza dreamers and fellow bloggers. Kelsey, from the new blog Living Lines
emailed me to tell me that she loved Bespoked Stanzas and that she had posted one of my poems on Living Lines. It is by far one of the best feelings to have someone connect with your poetry.

So dreamers, to supplement your Bespoked Stanzas reading and to feed your literary souls add Living Lines to your list of blogs to read.

Until next time dreamers…

Good evening my fellow fashion lovers and dreamers. Tonight is eerily beautiful. As I was driving home today, sitting in LA traffic, I saw an arresting rainbow peeking from behind thick chunky grey clouds that seemed to have swallowed the clear bright blue skies that only moments ago had filled the air. A cool breeze swept through my car window as the sky began to change its hue. Then, long bolts of lightening darted through the sky- an unwanted light show. But I will admit, despite my fear (I am afraid of everything), I was able to for a moment recognize its beauty.

Now, I am sitting on my couch by my window- sheltered from the big dollops of water toppling from the sky and the unexpected light shows. A warm breeze is coming through my window rippling the shades. The stove is humming as my sole stuffed with crab and shrimp from Whole Foods bakes. For the first time in a long time it is calm. No workload looming over my head, no TV, no responsibilities- at least not for this moment, not right now. And I love it.

I have been writing poems quite often in my moments of spare time- I quickly jot down a few lines on whatever paper is in front of me. Sometimes I piece them altogether to make these concoctions of slightly off beat rhythm and rhyme, but lately I like that. It’s something different- not predicted.

Here is a short poem I jotted down in the margins of my notebook:

I will hop-scotch
around the world
if you play hide and seek from me.
i’ll find you.
Race through, red lights and green lights
Jump through hula hoops
and leapfrog over lily pads
I’ll capture your flag
Red Rover Red Rover
I’ll send you right over
every time.
because Simone says,
you were meant for me
And Love, beats rock paper scissors.
all the time.

Well my fish is ready dreamers. I’m off to go cut some cucumbers and enjoy this meal- maybe a nice glass of white wine to go with it?

Oh yea, TOMORROW is my BIRTHDAY! Another beautiful year I was blessed with, hoping that 22 will be just as wonderful.

Until tomorrow dreamers…

Well good evening dreamers, or rather good morning. It’s 1 o’clock right now. Honestly, I would rather be snuggled in my bed lost in a juicy dream but instead I am up on the computer, wide awake.
A few minutes ago I got this surge of confidence. I am not quite sure where it came from- to be honest I am normally quite critical of myself, as most of us are. I have a hard time pointing out my strengths and all of the things that make me beautiful, yet I find it quite easy to identify my weakness and flaws.
But, just a few minutes ago, the tables turned- my mindset reversed and out of nowhere I felt 100 percent confident in who I was not only physically but mentally.
Quickly I opened up my photo booth (the picture taker on Mac computers) and had my own little photo shoot on my couch- flannel shirt, oversized heather t-shirt and all. I wanted to capture what this glimpse of pure confidence looked like.
And then I realized, an exercise that I’d like to start implementing into my life everyday. If every day I found one thing that I loved about myself whether it be something physical, or an attitude that I posses, or a belief that I stand by- I believe that I would walk around with my head held a little higher and have a deeper strength within myself as I charge through each day.
Just a feeling I had- a small revelation- that hopefully you can somehow apply to yourself.
At the risk of sounding to philosophical and preachy I will leave it at simply this-
we are all beautifully talented and profound individuals and every day we should modestly embrace ourselves and bask in the beautiful aspects of who we are.
Until later today dreamers…

Hello my fellow dreamers…Hasn’t today been beautiful (for those of you in LA)?!
I love gloomy days, where just a sliver of sunshine peaks through the thick clouds. The air is crisp today too, I love that. Today I finally got to pull out my boots again, with my oversized sweater, tights and a scarf- the perfect outfit in my opinion. I would make it my uniform if Cali weather would allow it.
So for today I’m basking in the beauty of this gloom and pulling from it every ounce of inspiration I can. There is something about days where you can snuggle on the couch in a big sweater and nestle into the cushion with a big cup of warm tea next to you- something about days like these, for me at least, inspiration is rampant.
Today in particular I’ve been thinking about what the future holds for me- what I would like for it to be holding for me at least. All this thinking means that it’s probably time that my boyfriend and I sit down and make some new
I wrote a poem about my feelings towards the future- my anxiety and fears.
This poem is dedicated to two fellow dreamers I know- Quimari and Lorenzo. Not only are these two both fashion dreamers, they are boundless thinkers, genuine individuals and all around stand-up guys.
Dreamers, Meet Quimari and Lorenzo.

Quimari and Lorenzo[New York City]

I want to be great.
but I don’t know how
so I just write these little poems.
then I show
and I tell
to who
i don’t know
the internets so vast
but i hope someone out theres listening
and I hope my poems last
i hope their impacting
connecting
and enjoying
provoking
or igniting
inspiring
or
conspiring
i hope someones crying
rejoicing
or relating
contemplating
or dreaming
i hope that someone is out there believing.
i want to be great
but i don’t know how
so for now
i just write these little poems
then i show
and i tell
and i hope
that someone is out there listening
feeling
and experiencing
or
considering
i hope someones smiling
dissecting
and discerning
what I am saying
I want to be great.
I hope your listening.

Hello my fellow fashion lovers and dreamers. I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful day so far. I have deeply missed checking in on the blog and allowing some me-time for myself to simply sit and write. Life is uncertain, and while I can not sit and say that another small hiatus is not in my future, I can say that I never want to be away from Bespoked Stanzas for that long ever again.

With that being said. I still have a ton of photos from New York that I have not shared with you all. Today, as I was looking through my folder of images I found myself drawn to Abraham. He has this magnetic energy. I first met him when I was studying at NYU, he was in a play that my roommate Adi was in. My roommate was amazing, but another standout performance was by Abraham. He is an honest actor, which is rare, and for that reason he is captivating.
I saw him again when my boyfriend and I were visiting Brooklyn for the day. He was walking down the street with a friend of his. I couldn’t remember his name so I yelled out the name of his character in the play. And he actually turned around.
Anyways, dreamers, meet Abraham.

Abraham [Brooklyn, New York

He’s not a 9-5 type.
he’s one of those creative kinds
who thinks beyond boundaries
and leaps over double lines.
he’s a rule breaker.
but the good kind.
moves to his own beat
rhythm and rhyme
and you may not understand him
what makes him so fly.
he’s an outside the box thinker,
an innovative kinda guy
but don’t be shy,
to approach him.
just because he, walks with a little lean to the side,
cus he looks like a confident kinda guy,
those are the best kind.
they’ll  challenge your mind.
watch out though.
he’s smooth.
he’ll have you thinkin that weird is the new cool
and he may be right,
cus he’s a real cool kinda guy.
and he might start to verse to you,
some poetry line
with his faint accent
and sweet eyes.
have your heart doing summersaults
your mind saying “i wish he was mine.”
i told you he’s the best kind.
one of those creative thinkers,
not the 9-5 type.
who thinks beyond boundaries
and leaps over double lines.
I told you he’s a rule breaker
but the good kind.

Until tomorrow dreamers. . .

Hello dreamers. Yes, yes I know it been far too long. I missed you too.
I have been writing a lot, and would like to share with you all what I have been doing on my hiatus.  I am working on a new post now, but I couldn’t wait to just press the “publish post” button once again.

So, in the meantime- while I conjure up a new post for you dreamers.
I thought I would give you all a little flashback.

One of my favorite posts ever, from the first month I embarked on this journey.

For those of you who didn’t get to meet her the first time…

Let me re-introduce her, dreamers meet Brittany.
